Widal Test

When fever persists over a week accompanied by fatigue and abdominal discomfort, a common suspicion is typhoid fever. Known for its global prevalence, typhoid is a bacterial infection that spreads through contaminated food or water. A key diagnostic tool for typhoid is the Widal Test or the Typhoid Test.

When you're feeling unwell with a fever that just won't go away, especially if it's been more than a week, it can be worrying. One of the most common infections suspected in such cases is typhoid. The Widal blood test is a diagnostic tool used to detect typhoid fever. It works by identifying antibodies in your blood that your body produces in response to Salmonella Typhi, the bacteria responsible for this infection.  

Early diagnosis with the Widal test is important, as it allows for timely treatment, helping prevent complications and easing your recovery.
